The Clerk was given a purse as a Christmas Present, a thank you for all the hard work she had carried out on behalf of the Parish. Cost from Chairman’s Allowance £20.

 6. PC ANGELA BAHN’S UPDATE ON LOCAL CRIME

PC Angela Bahn was not present.

12. THE GENERAL CONDITION OF THE PARISH

12.1. Public Footpath Slope/Wheelie Bins

The Chair has phoned Andy Simpson 07702 220106  and was not able to make contact. The Clerk emailed several times and has not received a reply.

Two people have slipped and fallen on this slope since Christmas; one incident resulted in the gentleman requiring two days off work.

A letter of complaint to be sent to the Highways Dept. – on going

 12.2 Plaque in the Sunday School updated. – on going

 12.3 The grid and unadopted road to the recreation ground.

Roy Lowndes from CEC is arranging for repairs to be carried out to the road and will confirm what and when asap.

 12.4 Canal Tow Path

The Clerk emailed The Canal & River Trust asking if any future plans along the tow path under the No. 34 bridge.

 12.5 Gritting the roads

Grit bags will be provided if we experience prolonged cold weather.

Simon Davies from the Highways Dept. has agreed to drop one grit sack at the corner of Well Lane, 0ne/two in the Roewood Lane area (Councillor Buckingham to advise location) and refill the grit bin off Roewood Lane.

 It was suggested we get these arrangements in place earlier this winter, in September.

 Cllr. Buckingham to obtain quotes from local private companies that grit roads.

 12.6 Flooded Cellar

Cllr. E. Wilson to advise the resident to contact United Utilities and Cheshire East Council.

 Other

The Clerk has carried out a Risk Assessment on the areas for which the Parish Council is responsible and reported two concrete stumps had been snapped and needed replacing, in the location of the seating area at Swanscoe.

 Cllr. P. Torr reported that the “No Entry” sign had blown down, at the T junction betweenSwanscoe LaneandWell Lane. The clerk to report the matter to the Highways Dept.

 Dog fouling is becoming an increasing problem. The Clerk to contact the Dog Warden to enquire if Well Lane and the sloped pathway off Rainow Road can be cleaned up and signs be put up to encourage owners to pick up after their dogs.

 13. NEXT PROJECT

13.1 Path from the unadopted road to the car park

Cllr. Torr obtained a  for a quote from Fairway Landscape for constructing steps across the boarder of the planted area onto the car park, to make a safer walkway off the unadopted road.  Cost  £255.80+ VAT = £306.96.      The cost was approved by the council

 It was decided that chicken wire would only be used to cover the sleeper steps if they became slippy.

 The Clerk to contact CEC Leisure to obtain permission for the construction, ensuring it will still be covered under their insurance.

 It was also proposed that we look into providing a shelter for children to take cover from the rain.

 13.2 Local History Booklet                                                                                                  This information to be rolled out with the Parish Council newsletter and advertised on the notice boards.

13.3. Keeping roads & Footpaths clean.

                                                                                                          

The Clerk and Cllr. E. Wilson to contact our Maintenance contractor Mr. Quinn before the next meeting otherwise alternative arrangements to be made.

13.4. Grassy area at end of Clarendon Drive – develop for children / adults?                Cllr. Buckingham has enquired from local residents which appear to be not very favourable towards the proposal.

14.SID.                                                                                                                              The Clerk to make determine if the SID has been obtained.

15. ASH TREE VIRUS (CHALARA DIEBACK) As we have not received confirmation of any infection, it is assumed the virus is not present in our parish.

 16. WEB SITE UPDATE

Cllr. L. Foster latest history episode concerning Sedgwick Mill/Rose Cottage has been entered on the web site and has met with very good reviews from the Councillors.

 Cllr. Buckley to provide photos for the history section of the web site. – Ongoing.

 Cllr. L. Foster and the Clerk to liaise and produce a letter which can be delivered to Parish Residents asking for any information/photographs they may have of the Parish. – Ongoing

 17. CLEAN UP THE VERGES BETWEEN WELL LANE AND THE PARISH BOUNDARY.

This work has been carried out by others.
