11. THE GENERAL CONDITION OF THE PARISH
It was noted at the meeting that CEC had carried out grass cutting in the recreation ground and surrounding area where the Parish Council had provided shrubs and it is now looking really nice.
There are two trees outside No. 90 Rainow Road, originally planted by the Women’s Institute, one of which has died. The clerk to enquire if CEC will remove the tree.
Other concerns were raised about treatment need for trees in the area.
Grass cutting is to continue at the end of May. The area at the other side of the drive at Swanscoe also to be cut. The Clerk to arrange.
11.1 Keeping Roads and Paths clean
The hedge running alongside Rainow Road has been cut and although the large off cuts have been removed a considerable amount of residue material is now on the footpaths and gutters. The clerk to request CEC to clear the highways.
Well Lane – Grids blocked with overgrown grass
The overgrown verge on Well Lane has been added to the CEC Siding Out programme which will start sometime early in the new financial year. – On going
Dog Fouling – Well Lane.
The problem has been reported to the Dog Wardens.
The clerk requested the Council to clear this area and ask regarding the possibility of a dog poo bin in the Well Lane location. As yet we have received no reply.
Since the area was sprayed there appears to be only one further offence committed.
Dog’s owners are still using the recreation ground to walk their dogs. The clerk to report this to CEC.
Recreation Ground Swings – The cross bar on the larger swing equipment does not appear to be properly secure and the seats are split. The Clerk notified the Leisure Dept.
