5. CHAIRPERSON’S ANNOUNCEMENTS. – The Chairman thanked the Councillors and the Clerk for their part in preparing and distributing the Parish Council News Letter.
Regret was expressed for fire that has destroyed one of the Parish’s historic buildings the George & Dragon, parts of which are thought to be 400 yrs old.

11. AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR
The phone kiosk in which the defibrillator is to be housed has now been purchased. The Clerk to make enquiries about the £1 payment and ask Nicholas Blair to attend our next meeting to discuss courses etc.
Cllr. N. Eardley has been approached by four people who are interested.
The defibrillator demonstrated by N. Blair appears to be the one we need to purchase.
Cllr. R. Buckley is to clean the kiosk in preparation.
12. THE GENERAL CONDITION OF THE PARISH
Rainow Road Grids
Email rec’d. From CEC 20.8.2014 advised:
The Macclesfield gully emptying schedule is programmed for later in the year. They thanked us for our offer to help with the issue of parked cars. They will make sure that they contact us nearer the time. The Clerk to enquire when they a scheduled to be cleaned.
The clerk to enquire if the design of the gulley across the un-adopted road can be looked at by the Highways Dept. as it is continually blocked the design is inadequate.
Grit Bins – The grit bins have now been installed and an additional bag was requested but not supplied, this may now not be required.
A possible additional bin will be considered next year.
Dog Fouling in the Recreation Ground at Higher Fold.
A further complaint has been received with concerns about the safety of the children whilst dogs are running off the lead in addition to the threat of the dog excrement not picked up by owners.
Despite several emails being sent to the Dog Warden no reply has been received.
The Clerk to chase and provide the phone No. to the Chairman.
We have been told advised dogs cannot be banned from this area but owners not picking up after their dog can be fined but photographic evidence and a statement are required.
It is thought there is a legal way to ban dogs from play areas but legal costs involved may prevent the Parish from using this option. The clerk to make enquiries with CEC.
13. PARISH NEWS LETTER
The Parish Newsletter has been completed and distributed.
14. THE CLOSURE OF THE SUNDAY SCHOOL
Unfortunately the Sunday School is to close on the 10th May 2015.
The Clerk to write to the Trustees, via Mr. N. Eardley to ask when they would like us to stop our meeting being held at there and request the final invoice.
When the date is know the Clerk to arrange for our meetings to be held in the porto cabin at Hurdsfield Church.
15. SID DEPOYMENT
The police have advised that they are not able to deploy the SID the Clerk requested, as we did not join with the other Parish Councils to pay for it. The approx. cost to buy one would be £2,000 approx. PCSO Jenny O’Reilly is asking her sergeant if there is any money in the budget to get the old SID repaired.
Cllr. Livesley advised there are cheaper options on the market around £200/£300, such as a police monitor from which the police collect information for the Parish Councils.

16. VOLUNTEERS FOR CANAL PROJECT
The project WAS due to start 7th Nov. 2014. A request for volunteers has been included in the news letter. The clerk has advised the group of contact details to find out who owns the land they require to store materials.
