Audit – We have received completion of the Annual audit. No action is required.
The “Notice of Conclusion of Audit and Right to Inspect the Annual Return” has been posted on the notice board.
Insurance – Will continue to be with Came and Company for the next three years.

Proposed Public Path Extinguishment Order – Public Footpath No. 9 (part) Parish of Higher Hurdsfield.
2. Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981: definitive Map and Statement
Application to Upgrade Public Footpath No. 9 Higher Hurdsfield to Bridleway.
It was agreed by that the previous comments made on behalf of the Parish Council should be considered for the above application.
Councillor Buckley to enquire if any members of the Parish had any further comments.
3. Application for Determination concerning Telecommunications Development under Terms of Part 24, schedule 2, General Permitted Development Order 1995 (As Amended)
A “Response” was sent to the Planning Departments opposing this application in line with the views of the local residents.

From 1st April 2013 funding for the current Council Tax Benefit scheme will switch to the Department for Communities and Local Government. Variation in claims will impact on the amount of council Tax available to support local services.

10. THE GENERAL CONDITION OF THE PARISH
10.1. + 10.2 Public Footpath/Wheelie Bins
Although the rods have been removed from the steps, the steps are degrading and the condition of this area is still considered unsatisfactory from a safety aspect. Building rubble left has now added to the problem. The wheelie bins are still present. Photos of the area to be sent to Highways/Public Rights of Way requesting this area be cleared of all obstructing items and the steps made good.
10.4 Parking on the Canal bridge
The Clerk has reported the problem to the Parking Dept of CEC. It was felt that no further action could be taken to improve this situation.
10.5 The Condition of Hurdsfield/Rainow Road.
- CEC agreed to sweep the road but were unable to do so because of parked cars. They have advised it would be necessary to close the road
- Two Councillors swept sections of the road to improve the situation. Councillor Buckingham to produce an article on the web site to encourage residents to improve their immediate surrounding area, including cutting back shrubs overhanging the footpath. Some residents have enhanced areas with beautiful hanging baskets.
- Roewood Lane has been swept by CEC.
10.6 The level of the bench in the recreation area.
Was inspected and found not to be level, no action to be taken.
Other – Silver Jubilee Cherry Tree to be ordered in October 2012.
11. Reported Burglaries
A gang of youths have commited a number of thefts within the area. Councillor Buckingham to produce a leaflet warning residents and advising them to be on the lookout for two vehicles used, one being a white transit, with 50s number plates.

Cllr. L. Foster met with a local resident to obtain further information and will shortly produce the next episode of our “Parish History”.
Cllr. Buckley to provide photos for the history section of the web site.
Cllr. L. Foster and the Clerk to liaise and produce a letter which can be delivered to Parish Residents asking for any information/photographs they may have of the Parish. – Ongoing
Cllr. Buckingham to determine the number of users on the web site for the next meeting.
